Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
+ Perform a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, assisting in operating room as permitted by state guidelines, removing sutures/staples, applying and removing casts and splints, monitoring and distributing DME.
+ Assist staff in other duties including escorting patients, taking vital signs and and assisting with minor procedures.
+ Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
+ Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
+ Assembling surgical equipment
+ Positioning patients for surgery
+ Decontamination and sanitizing of post-surgical suites
+ Unpacking Delivered Surgical Supplies
+ Clean and maintains Equipment
+ Provides assistance to medical staff
+ Operate surgical equipment under the supervision of medical staff
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Maintain work area, ORs, supplies.
+ Perform associated clerical tasks as assigned.
+ Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
+ Adhere to employer work practices.
+ Work as a team member within the Operating Room and all other departments.
+ Effectively cope with typical job stress.
+ Document work processes as required.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology training program preferred.
+ And/or Completion of an Allied Health program in a related field with Surgical Assist program preferred.
+ And/or Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
+ Certification/Licensure: AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider
+ Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in a clinic and/or hospital/surgery center setting.
+ Must have the ability to lift 25-50lbs
USD $18.00/Hr. USD $25.00/Hr.
