Job Title: Injection Mold Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Injection Mold Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating injection molding machines, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting process issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of auxiliary molding equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and run injection molding machines, following all basic process steps.
+ Remove and set up molds in injection molding machines.
+ Monitor and run auxiliary molding equipment such as grinders, chillers, loaders, and robots.
+ Troubleshoot and repair equipment and process issues.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
+ Communicate actions and problem resolution to the next shift.
+ Work from specifications and blueprint drawings.
+ Replace defective components in injection molding machines and other equipment.
+ Move, install, and adjust appliances, fixtures, motors, and other electrical/mechanical equipment for safety.
+ Request assistance for any problems beyond your area of knowledge or expertise.
+ Use a variety of hand and power tools.
+ Follow detailed instructions from others or written format.
+ Make routine checks on equipment, document status, and complete necessary reports.
+ Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
+ Actively report any safety, environmental, or quality concerns.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in industrial maintenance.
+ Electrical skills with 3 phase motors, 240-480V, and relays.
+ Mechanical skills with pumps, motors, belts, and pulleys.
+ Ability to read and write English at an appropriate level to perform essential duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with plastics, preferably injection or extrusion molding.
+ Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting.

Work Environment
This is a long-term position on the 3rd shift from 10pm to 6am, with occasional Saturday work. The plastic environment can be hot near the machines, especially with six new machines/lines being added. The dress code includes steel toes, jeans, and a work shirt. Employees receive a 30-minute paid lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.50/hr.
