Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, specializing in heavy diesel and mining equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as diesel engines, in a mining environment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

+ Conduct maintenance and repair work on diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance.

+ Troubleshoot and diagnose engine repairs to identify the root cause of failures or issues.

+ Work with heavy diesel equipment such as dump trucks, haul trucks, loaders, drills, and conveyors.

+ Carry out component repairs on heavy equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

+ Maintain and repair Tier 4 diesel engines and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) systems.

Essential Skills

+ Diesel repair certifications (Cat, Komatsu, Diesel repair state or ASE).

+ 2+ years of experience working on diesel equipment in an industrial environment.

+ 2+ years of experience with heavy diesel equipment.

+ 2+ years of experience with pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tooling.

+ 2+ years of experience with heavy equipment component repair.

+ Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic preventative maintenance.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose engine repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with Tier 4 engines and DPF systems.

Work Environment

The role is based underground in a salt mine, where you will contribute to extracting salt for various uses such as ice melting, leather, and food processing.

This is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66538.00 - $72718.00/yr.

Employee benefits package can be received upon interview.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Detroit,MI.
