Job Description:
_About the Role:_
We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our corporate team. The Federal Tax Manager will work with internal and external resources in the preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual tax provision, U.S. tax filing obligations, tax planning and M&A transactions. The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals within the Tax department, Finance, Operations, external consultants and financial auditors. The Tax Manager should be highly motivated, results oriented and able to assist with training and developing the tax staff to achieve their highest capability.
_You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:_
• Manage the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision, including U.S. international tax implications, and ensure they are in accordance with U.S. GAAP/ASC 740.
• Lead compliance efforts of all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.
• Assist with various aspects of FIN 48 – Accounting for Uncertainties in Income Taxes, including review of tax position memos and FIN 48 requirements.
• Manage the preparation and review of the U.S. federal tax return, including international tax packages and informational reporting requirements.
• Review quarterly federal estimated tax payments.
• Coordination and management of federal tax audits.
• Manage cross-border transfer pricing responsibilities, including analysis and annual documentation requirements.
• Assist with various tax planning and structuring projects.
• Assist with research and writing internal reports on various topics to support the Company’s tax positions.
• Assist with preparation of tax rate forecasts.
• Support tax planning initiatives, credits & incentives opportunities, and special projects such as business acquisitions and divestitures and provide analysis of specific tax impacts; Responding to questions from the business, monitoring tax law changes and participating in business process change initiatives.
• Identify critical tax risks, understand business, regulatory, and finance imperatives, and assist in developing and implementing appropriate tax strategies aligned with Company’s objectives.
• Support ongoing enhancements and seamless integration across multiple areas of the tax function to maximize efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships throughout the finance organization to increase understanding of the business and keep current with transactions and/or other changes/activities that may affect tax results.
• Communicates with Accounting, External Reporting, Treasury, and Financial Planning & Analysis departments throughout the year on a regular basis; with Legal, Human Resources, and other internal parties as issues & opportunities arise
• Collaborate with outside advisors on various tax matters; Interact with independent auditing firm in support of company’s ASC 740 calculations
_Important Details:_
• This is a full-time, first-shift hybrid position based at our corporate office in Oak Brook, IL.
• The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $99,200 to $148,800 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay.
_You’ll fit right in if you have:_
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Exposure to multiple business disciplines (Purchasing, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, R&D) is highly desirable.
• Six or more years in the corporate tax department of a publicly traded company or the tax group of a Big 4, or similar, public accounting firm with prior ASC 740 and federal income tax compliance preferred.
• Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions and levels.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a dynamic environment.
• Experienced in leading projects and driving process improvements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with SAP, BPC, or BI tools is a plus.
