Job Details

Responsibilities:

+ Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients during the peri-operative period

+ Observes patient upon admission to OR

+ Helps plan nursing intervention based on Plan of Care derived from knowledge of the patients' health status and knowledge of the procedure to be performed

+ Scrubs, sets up table according to OR standards

+ Maintains sterile technique

+ Provides for patient safety and comfort

+ Assists surgeon, anticipates surgeon's needs, and establishes appropriate priorities

+ Handles instruments, supplies and equipment properly

+ Performs activities that foster a culture of safety within the department and organization

+ Identifies safety/risk reduction strategies and communicates these to department director

+ Assumes additional responsibilities as directed

Qualifications:

+ High School diploma or GED required

+ NBSTSA Certification as an Operating Room Surgical Technologist required

+ Prior experience working in an Operating Room setting within an acute care hospital preferred

Salary Range

USD $40.59 - USD $45.67 /Hr.
