Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Machine Operator with expertise in saw operation to join our dynamic team. Your primary responsibility will be to apply metal to customer orders and process materials accurately according to work order specifications. You will ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition, keeping the processing area orderly. You will also be responsible for data entry and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
+ Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
+ Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.
+ Set up equipment properly and safely to run material according to setup note specifications.
+ Process setup notes in accordance with work order specifications.
+ Verify that products meet setup note specifications as per written work instructions and record measurements.
+ Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications.
+ Perform equipment preventive maintenance.
+ Enter and delete material identification tags as per written instructions.
+ Conduct general clean-up activities.
+ Assist in the packaging of material according to written work instructions and work orders.
+ Maintain measurement equipment in working condition.
+ Operate weighing scales correctly and record inspection measurements.
+ Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material.
+ Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
+ Complete job responsibilities safely, ensuring the safety of self and others.
+ Train others when required.
+ Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality improvements.
Essential Skills
+ Certified material handler.
+ Minimum of 2 years of saw operation experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
+ Proficiency in inventory control, math skills, and reading blueprints.
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
+ Basic math skills and the ability to read and write.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
+ Previous forklift experience.
+ Experience with hand-held measuring tools.
+ Computer literacy.

Work Environment
You will be working in a warehouse and production environment, engaging with various technologies including cranes, forklifts, and saws. The work is fast-paced and requires precision and attention to detail. Safety and cleanliness are prioritized, and the role may require wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr.
