Maintenance Technician - Battle Creek, MI

Job Description

Seeking a skilled and knowledge industrial maintenance technician to add to our team in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This technician will be involved in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and machinery to avoid downtime and ensure steady flow of production.

Responsibilities

+ Perform manufacturing-related equipment preventive maintenance.

+ Safely troubleshoot live electrical panels.

+ Participate in problem-solving groups and lean manufacturing activities.

+ Contribute to the maintenance department's efforts to achieve key performance measures.

+ Continuously learn to support various processes such as thermal forming, adhesive, molding, isocyanate foam, high-pressure water, and assembly.

+ Operate powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, and cranes.

+ Edit and modify control programs on programmable devices such as A-B, SLC-500, Control Logics, Panel View, and PanelView Plus.

Skills & Qualifications

+ 3+ years of experience working in a maintenance department within a manufacturing environment.

+ 3+ years of experience maintaining automated machinery.

+ Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.

+ Strong familiarity with automated systems including PLC's, VFD's, HMI, etc.

+ Experience with robot and robotic control (Fanuc, Motoman, ABB) is a plus.

Work Environment

The facility manufactures interior sound-deadening material for the automotive industry and operates in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive culture typical of the automotive sector. The plant covers approximately 300,000 square feet, with 40% of work associated with Chrysler and the remainder distributed among various tiered suppliers and auto manufacturers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
