    Job Description

    The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to customers while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service. This role may include light cooking and barista duties.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines.

    + Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating.

    + Deliver meals to patients/residents and assist with tray setup.

    + Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and service areas.

    + Follow food safety protocols and infection control procedures.

    + Communicate with nursing staff and dietary team regarding patient needs.

    + Record meal counts and assist with inventory as needed.

    + Provide friendly, efficient customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in food service and food preparation.

    + Knowledge of food handling and safety protocols.

    + Strong customer service orientation.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    + Excellent communication skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in cooking, baking, or working as a line cook or chef.

    + Experience as a cashier or in hospitality.

    + Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is set in a healthcare/retirement setting with a generally indoor environment. The work schedule is 7am-3:30pm with rotating weekends off, including holidays. The environment is smoke-free with moderate to loud noise levels and may include supervising outdoor activities and events. The schedule may require evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business needs dictate.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
