Job Description:
This position is required to primarily operate large mowers and tractors ranging in size from 25HP to 125HP on the campus of LSU at Baton Rouge. Ability to operate equipment safely around pedestrians, employees and other traffic is a primary concern. A complete understanding of preventive maintenance and proper operation of these machines is required.
Job Duties:
Operate large mowers and tractors ranging in size from 25HP to 125HP that pull large bush hogs. flails, finish mower decks, side bush hogs, etc., in support of mowing activities on the campus and at offsite locations as directed. -75%
Work with landscape crews and construction crews performing a variety of tasks necessary for grounds maintenance.-10%
Perform necessary preventive maintenance, cleaning, greasing, minor repairs and associated record keeping to maintain the equipment in a ready and safe state of operation. Position is required to maintain the equipment ready for inspection at any time.-10%
Other duties as assigned -5%
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
+ Due to the nature of this position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.
+ This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
+ This position is classified as a safety and security-sensitive position. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
+ In accordance with PS-18 this position maybe required to report or stay on campus in the event of emergency or closure.
+ Due to the position's physical requirements, a pre-employment physical examination will be required per FASOP: HR-04.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Class E Drivers License
