We offer a leading line of vegetable seed for growers in the United States and Eastern Canada. *Vegetable Supply Chain Manager* * Purpose and Summary* The *Vegetable Supply Chain Manager* plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across the vegetable seed business. This position oversees all aspects of supply chain operations — including procurement, logistics, and vendor management — to ensure efficient manufacturing, cost optimization, and consistent product quality. Working closely with Business and Product Managers, this leader ensures that supplies, raw materials, and finished goods are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time. The role also oversees vegetable purchasing activities to strengthen the company’s sourcing strategy and operational performance. * Leadership Responsibilities* * Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics and purchasing professionals. * Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the vegetable supply chain team. * * Key Responsibilities* * Design, implement, and monitor an effective supply chain strategy that maximizes efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. * Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and internal SEEDWAY teams to ensure alignment and seamless operations. * Partner with Product Management, Warehouse, and other departments to identify vulnerabilities, close process gaps, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. * Negotiate and manage transportation contracts — including truckload, LTL, and small parcel — to secure competitive rates and reliable service, in collaboration with the farm seed logistics team. * Establish and track key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and guide data-driven decision-making. * Work with finance, sales, and manufacturing teams to evaluate and select top-performing vendors and distributors. * Promote safety, cost control, and business growth in all operational decisions. * Partner with the Business Process Manager to develop and enforce standardized procedures across the vegetable supply chain. * Train, evaluate, and manage supply chain personnel throughout the vegetable division. * * Qualifications* * Bachelor’s degree in *Business Management*, *Supply Chain Management*, or related field — or *5+ years of relevant experience*. * Proven experience leading supply chain or logistics operations, preferably in an agricultural or manufacturing environment. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions. * Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative mindset. * Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software. * Skilled in *Microsoft Office* and *JD Edwards ERP* (or similar systems). * Willingness to work extended hours as needed and travel independently, including overnight stays. * Why Join Us* * Excellent benefits, including annual bonus incentive, 401K match. * Health and safety-focused environment. * A dynamic team-oriented atmosphere.
