    Summary:

    The Risk Analyst I position plays a key role in the identification and oversight of risk related areas within Resurgent’s inventory management. This individual is responsible for evaluating and assessing risks associated with specific documents and data stores, identifying and tracking trends, and assisting in the solution and implementation of risk related issues. The Risk Analyst I position reports to the Sr. Director of Risk Management.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    + Assists with development and implementation of comprehensive account treatment strategies, weighing in on short and long-term solutions, providing innovative ideas and gaining subject matter expertise in global processes.

    + Conducts user acceptance testing with various applications or new processes to ensure quality changes and through vetting of scenarios. Report test findings with Risk Team to stakeholders and technical resources.

    + Manages regular smoke detector type reports that monitor situations and processes that could violate regulatory or legal requirements, licensing or related risk areas. Starting areas of responsibility include focus on critical data review processes, last payment analysis, monitoring various state and media reports, and providing direction on mapping incoming documents into Resurgent systems. These areas will require manual account level research, working with external vendor files, various data stores and queries, and a wide range of team collaboration.

    + Ad-hoc data analysis to dive into issue identification, provide data trending analysis and reporting for slides.

    + Responsible for direct data updates to critical data fields and understanding of data veracity related to those fields.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    + 1 + years of experience performing business data analysis, back-office collection administration, or other collection industry related work experience preferred.

    + Ability to grasp downstream process impact and data structure requirements.

    + Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data and assist in solution development.

    + Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, dealing with competing priorities and short timelines in a dynamic environment.

    + Works well as a individual contributor and collaboratively within a team environment.

    + Ability to work with a wide range of colleagues, tailor communication style, and work through conflict in a positive manner.

    + Proficient in MS Word, Excel (charts, formulas, pivots) and PowerPoint for slide creation.

    + Visio or process mapping tools a plus.

    + Previous knowledge of state and federal regulations relevant to the debt collection industry (FDCPA, FCRA, UDAPP, etc.) a plus.

    + SQL or other programming language experience a plus.

    + Actively seek opportunities to improve SQL skills, data knowledge, and knowledge of Resurgent’s business processes as role progresses.

    Educational Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
