    The Role

     

    As an **IT Enterprise Architect – Applications** , you will design, implement, and manage the overall application architecture for the IT organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic initiatives. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions—guiding the development and integration of enterprise-wide applications.

     

    This role requires strong expertise in software engineering, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture. You will translate complex business challenges into scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions. By partnering with cross-functional IT teams, you’ll develop strategies that ensure system stability, resilience, and scalability to meet the demands of a growing global business.

     

    You will also lead the design and optimization of the Application Portfolio Management (APM) function to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence—ensuring data consistency, performance, and scalability.

    Core Responsibilities

    + Align enterprise application architecture with organizational strategy and business objectives.

    + Design scalable, secure, and efficient application solutions leveraging cloud-based technologies.

    + Define integration strategies and standards that promote operational agility and minimize technical debt.

    + Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural best practices and compliance standards.

    + Partner with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication across initiatives.

    + Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

    Required Qualifications

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

    Experience and Skills:

    + 5+ years of experience in business process architecture, enterprise architecture, or related field.

    + Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.

    + Proficiency in ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM).

    + Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

    + Knowledge of integration technologies and API management.

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    + Experience with agile development methodologies.

    + Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across technical and business teams.

    + Familiarity with security best practices and compliance requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s degree (MSc or MBA) in Information Technology or related field.

    + Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.

    + Experience working in a global or multi-national organization.

    + Proven track record of implementing enterprise-level business process solutions.

    + Prior involvement in an SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative.

    The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
