    Job Description

    An offshore O&G operator in The Woodlands, TX is looking for an Automation Controls Engineer to join their Automation Engineering team. This role will provide technical assurance support for Automation & Control scopes that are part of MOCs and capital projects.

    Responsibilities include:

    *Vet engineering work through 3rd party, review work packs, approve solutions, look into implementation of work packs, go into testing and give guidance during execution.

    *Ensure A&C scope aligns with business objectives, budget, and schedule.

    *Provide A&C expertise with technical insight and design analysis.

    *Provide technical assurance of designs, ensuring compliance with codes and

     

    standards.

     

    *Identify issues early and provide risk mitigation solutions to avoid costly mistakes.

    *Able to manage multiple MOCs and projects in parallel.

    Skills and Requirements

    *10+ years’ experience performing A&C engineering and project execution tasks:

    o Control System design

    o I/O loading

    o PLC and HMI configuration and programming

    o Working with common industrial networking protocols: EtherNet/IP, Modbus

    RTU, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET

    o Leading and participating in FAT and SAT

    *Knowledge of typical documents used during process A&C project execution.

    o PFDs

    o P&IDs

    o SAFE Charts

    o Cause & EƯects

    o Control Narrative

    o RASP lists (or other alarm management documentation)

    *Knowledge of relevant A&C engineering codes and standards:

    o NFPA 70

    o IEC 61131

    o ISA 18.2

    o ISA 84/61511

    o ISA 101 *Offshore O&G experience

    *Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following subjects:

    o Fire & Gas Systems

    o Instrument and Valve Specifications
