As a Senior Design Engineer in the BCP Operator Station System team you will be responsible for developing proof of concepts and executing fully validated designs that are simple, consistent, intuitive, cost effective, and customer preferred solutions.
These are key essentials to the success of integrating cab components into the operator station system for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs as well as current product updates.
Job Responsibilities
+ New product design and development including project planning, part design, systems integration, procurement of test bed and prototype iron, field follow of pilot machines, and production implementation.
+ Requirements Management, Boundary Diagram, Design Failure Mode, and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plans & Report (DVP&R), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Process Control Plan.
+ Collaborate with the global team and internal/ external process partners on technical, commercial, and program issues.
+ Develop and execute validated resolution of NPI and CPI issues.
+ Understanding customer requirements and managing deliverables.
+ Engage with Product Group and cross functional systems team to develop optimum and cost-effective design solutions while meeting quality and reliability goals.
+ Perform complex analysis work to identify design/ process risk and develop mitigation plans.
What you will have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accredited Engineering Institution (Mechanical, Agricultural, or Materials Science).
+ **Product Design and Development** : Relevant product development and engineering work experience required. Good working knowledge of NPI, CPI, and APQP processes. Demonstrated experience with CPI and DMAIC issue resolution.
+ **Managing Multiple Priorities** : Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet program deliverables.
+ **Effective Communications:** Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Effective at written and oral communication to convey technical information effectively and professionally with internal & external process partners and product group.
+ **Managing Multiple Priorities:** Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and deliver results under challenging requirements of quality, cost, and timelines.
Top Candidates will also have:
+ MS in Engineering
+ Proficiency in Creo and utilizing Teamcenter Engineering to release designs.
+ Good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
+ Have good understanding and experience of stampings, fabrication, and non-metallics components design and effective manufacturing practices.
+ Ability to work well within a fast-paced team environment while managing complex projects.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proven ability to network and establish collaborative relationships within the workgroup, internal process partners, supply chain, and internal customers.
Additional Information:
+ **Office Model:** This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
+ **Travel:** 10% domestic and/or foreign travel is expected.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
