    Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer (Manual Testing)

     

    This position requires POS / point-of-sale / payment pinpads experience.

     

    About the Role

     

    We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Quality Engineer (QE) with a strong background in manual testing, exceptional communication skills, and a solid understanding of complex business processes. This role is key to ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our core business applications.

     

    The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, domain-savvy tester who thrives in a collaborative environment, advocates for quality across the organization, and brings deep expertise in identifying and preventing issues before they impact users.

    Domain Expertise (Preferred)

    + Apply deep understanding of the Retail or Payment Systems domain to anticipate edge cases, business impact, and critical user flows.

    + Ensure compliance, accuracy, and reliability in transactional integrity, data security, and end-to-end customer experiences.

    Required Qualifications

    + 6+ years of dedicated experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.

    + Proven expertise in manual testing methodologies and practices — this is a hands-on manual testing role.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.

    + Experience using test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps).

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + 2+ years of hands-on experience testing Retail systems (e.g., POS) or Payment systems (e.g., Gateways, Processing, Billing, PCI compliance).

    + Experience with SQL querying for data validation and backend testing.

    + Basic knowledge of API testing using Postman or similar tools.

    + Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

    Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Testing (Manual Focus)

    + Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts across UI, API, and database layers.

    + Perform functional, integration, system, regression, UAT support, and exploratory testing for new features and releases.

    + Identify, document, and track software defects with detailed reproduction steps and appropriate severity levels.

    + Collaborate with Product Managers and Business Analysts to interpret complex requirements into actionable test scenarios.

    + Define the scope and strategy for testing efforts to ensure coverage and effectiveness.

    + Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning to advocate for testability and quality at every stage.

    Communication & Collaboration

    + Serve as a central communication hub for testing progress, quality metrics, and risk assessments across engineering, product, and business teams.

    + Communicate complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    + Collaborate closely with developers to triage defects, reproduce issues, and verify fixes efficiently.
