The PenFed Foundation for Military Heroes is hiring a (Remote) Program Manager Accelerator, Veteran Entrepreneur Program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Manager, Accelerator of the Veteran Entrepreneur Program plays a critical role in the execution of the PenFed Foundation’s nationally recognized Veteran Entrepreneur Accelerator Program. The Program Manager is responsible for managing the operational, logistical, and communications elements of the accelerator, ensuring high-quality, mission-aligned experiences for veteran and military spouse founders. The Program Manager will work independently managing program coordination of day-to-day operations and collaborate closely with the Program Director/Sr. Manager, the Program Manager - Incubator, the Outreach/Engagement Manager, cohort participants, presenters, partners, and vendors to deliver seamless, effective programming across multiple locations and formats.

+ Manage day-to-day execution of the accelerator program across all five national cohorts, including scheduling, communication, and logistics.
+ Directs all logistics for in-person and virtual programming, including venue booking, catering, travel, hotel accommodations, printed materials, and technical setup.
+ Creates program calendar, ensure deadlines are met, and assist in developing program timelines and workback schedules.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for cohort participants regarding logistics, scheduling, and general support.
+ Directs participant onboarding, registration, travel planning, and reimbursements.
+ Monitor participant progress, engagement, and satisfaction throughout the program.
+ Oversees speakers, mentors, and subject matter experts for virtual and in-person programming.
+ Ensure presenters are fully briefed, prepared, and supported before and during their sessions.
+ Leads onboarding of new cohort members and prepare them for six weeks of mentoring.
+ Help maintain strong relationships with accelerator partners, sponsors, and external collaborators.
+ Lead the logistical execution of the multi-day in-person training events and pitch competitions, including space setup, signage, meals, A/V, and guest experience.
+ Support the promotion and organization of the pitch competition event, including judging logistics and event registration.
+ Ensure all day-of items are executed seamlessly (breakfast/lunch set up, gift bags, A/V, etc.).
+ Track and reconcile expenses related to programming in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager and Director of Finance.
+ Manage applications, intake processes, and data tracking through the application platforms.
+ Send application updates and communicate regularly regarding the status of applications.
+ Support data collection for surveys, reports, and impact evaluations.
+ Contributes to the continuous improvement of programming through participant feedback and post-cohort debriefs.
+ Collaborate with and support the efforts of the Program Manager, Incubator.
+ Creates strategic Communications and digital media to update website content, event announcements, and email communications.
+ Manages outreach emails, reminders, speaker confirmations, and cohort communications.
+ Promotes and organizes content for the program’s podcast, YouTube channel, and other outlets.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
+ 3+ years of experience in program coordination, event planning, entrepreneurship support, or nonprofit project management.
+ Bachelor’s Degree with the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions required.
+ Experience working with veterans or military-connected communities is a plus.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
+ High attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset.
+ Proficiency with email platforms, CRMs, Canva, and standard office tools.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to travel up to 15% for in-person cohort events and pitch competitions.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*
Travel
Ability to travel is required.
