Join over 40,000 Hartford HealthCare colleagues who make a difference every day . *Job Title: Audiologist* *Location:* Hartford HealthCare – Hartford, CT *Schedule:* Full-Time – 40 hours/week ** *Position Summary:* Hartford HealthCare is seeking a skilled and compassionate *Audiologist* to join our team in *Hartford, CT*. This role is responsible for the *diagnosis and treatment of patients experiencing ear and hearing-related symptoms*, including hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders. The Audiologist will play a key role in improving patients’ quality of life through comprehensive evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of individualized care strategies. *Key Responsibilities:* * Independently evaluate patients experiencing symptoms related to the ear and hearing by examining patient and assessing nature and extent of hearing disorder using testing devices. Assess impact and severity of hearing loss in order to develop an appropriate treatment plan. * Develop comprehensive diagnosis in order to develop an appropriate treatment plan. Diagnose severity of hearing loss: mild, moderate, moderately severe, severe, and profound. Diagnose category of hearing loss: sensorineural hearing loss, conductive hearing loss, and mixed hearing loss. Diagnose other inner ear related disorders such as vestibular (balance) disorders * Develop and implement hearing loss treatment plan, which may include cleaning the ear canal, and fitting patient for and dispensing hearing aids. Evaluate and determine cochlear or osseo-integrated implant candidacy. Activate and program sound processors for cochlear or osseo-integrated implant recipients. Develop and implement treatment plan for balance disorder and other inner ear related disorders. * Provide education and counsel to patients and (if applicable) patient family and caregiver about hearing, and inner ear related problems.
