    Role Overview

     

    As the **Supervisor, Lab Facility** , you will oversee the day-to-day operations of BayCare’s Outreach Laboratory at Gessler Clinic. This leadership role is responsible for managing specimen collection, receiving, and processing workflows while ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency across all outreach functions. You will serve as a key liaison between laboratory staff, nursing teams, and external clients, providing expert guidance and fostering strong communication and collaboration.

     

    The Supervisor will also contribute to policy and procedure development, coordinate special projects, and ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards while supporting BayCare’s commitment to clinical excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Supervise and coordinate daily operations for specimen collection, receiving, and processing.

    + Oversee communications with nursing staff and clients regarding patient specimens.

    + Manage the referral of specimens to outside laboratories.

    + Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies and procedures.

    + Lead and support laboratory staff through training, coaching, and performance feedback.

    + Ensure compliance with all quality, regulatory, and safety standards.

    + Assist in laboratory projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

    + Prioritize and delegate administrative and technical tasks effectively.

    + Collaborate with physicians, clients, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high service quality.

    Qualifications

    • **Certification & Licensure**

    + **Required:** Phlebotomy or Medical Lab Assistant Certification

    + **Preferred:** Medical Technologist License

    • **Education**

    + **Required:** High School Diploma or GED

    + **Preferred:** Associate’s Degree in a Related Field

    • **Experience**

    + Laboratory-related experience required

    + Experience with **Cerner LIS** and **Invision-SMS** systems preferred
