    Introduction-This is a Night Shift Seasonal Position and rate is $55/HR!!

     

    Required Work Hours: 72 Hours a Pay Period ( pay period is every 2 weeks)

     

    Contract goes through 4/4/2026

    Job Summary and Qualifications

    • Determine the predictable or unpredictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary health care team members. · Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care. · Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient. · Formulate a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnoses and identified problems. · Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with other laws that apply to the practice setting. · Develop and implement teaching plans for patients/ families concerning promotion, maintenance and restoration of health. · Provide education, emotional support and age specific care to foster a partnership with the patient and significant others. · Provide for the care of multiple patients (individual and family) either through direct care or assignment and/or delegation of care to other members of the healthcare team. · Evaluate and document the patient’s (individual and family) responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions. · Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision making in nursing practice.

    What qualifications you will need:

    + · Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing

    + · If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.

    + · Minimum of one-year experience in acute care hospital within the last three years, required

    + . Experience in pediatrics is Required.

    + · Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license

    + · Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider

    + · Effective 1/1/2014 PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.

    PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

    • All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.

    • Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.

    • Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.

    • During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).

    • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.

    • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.

    • Seasonal Staff will **not** be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)

    • Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.

    • **Current employees are not eligible** to join the Seasonal program for 2025—26.

    • **Current employees of HWS are** **not eligible** **for the seasonal program.**

    • Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
