Job Summary

Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using hand tools and testing instruments to supply electrical power for lighting, equipment and machine operations

Impact of the Role

General Profile

+ Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience

+ Completes a variety of atypical assignments

+ Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments

+ Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments

+ Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience

+ Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Essential Functions

+ Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.

+ Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected.

+ Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.

+ Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.

+ Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.

+ Replaces conduit, wiring and circuit breakers as needed.

Required Qualifications

+ Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications

+ Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree

+ Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred

+ Additional certifications: Typically requires an Electrician's license granted by state

+ Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electrical Wiring Installation. Install Electrical Services. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Troubleshooting Electrical Codes

Physical Requirements

+ Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

+ Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.

+ May need to stand for long periods of time.

+ Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

+ May be requested to work a different shift.

+ Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.

+ This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Pay Range (USD)

$57,750.00 - $107,250.00
