Job Description
The AVP partners closely with Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Graduate Studies, Student Business Services, and Student Affairs, as well as with the AVP of Enrollment Marketing & Recruitment, to ensure Enrollment Management work is aligned from inquiry through graduation. As a visible campus leader, the AVP integrates data-driven decision-making, customer service excellence, and collaborative processes to enhance the student experience, ensure compliance, and advance institutional priorities. This position requires a decisive leader with strong problem-solving skills, a capacity to manage complex systems, and a bold vision for student-centered growth.
Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Campus Partnerships
+ Serve as a senior Enrollment Management leader for enrollment, retention, student success, and customer service strategy.
+ Partner with Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Graduate Studies, and Student Business Services to coordinate enrollment and retention efforts across the institution.
+ Collaborate with the AVP of Enrollment Marketing & Recruitment to ensure alignment across Enrollment Management from inquiry through graduation.
+ Represent Enrollment Management on university committees and councils, serving as a voice for student success, compliance, and institutional growth.
+ Lead a solutions-focused approach, addressing cross-campus challenges through collaboration, policy alignment, and innovative problem-solving.
Operational Oversight
+ Direct and oversee the Registrar’s Office, Admissions Processing (including credit articulation), and the Enrollment Service Center (ESC).
+ Ensure all enrollment processes are efficient, effective, and fully documented, with ongoing assessment to improve service delivery and accountability.
+ Collaborate with Academic Affairs to ensure catalog and class schedule optimization aligns with enrollment trends, faculty resources, and compliance requirements.
+ Lead the development of articulation agreements and MOUs with community colleges to streamline transfer pathways and improve credit mobility.
+ Maintain a high level of service delivery in the ESC as the university’s one-stop student support center.
+ Provide strategic leadership to ensure that enrollment functions (registration, records, graduation, residency, and compliance) operate effectively, efficiently, and in support of student success.
Financial Aid Partnership
+ Collaborate with Financial Aid to analyze data, address systemic challenges, and ensure alignment of aid policies with retention and enrollment goals.
+ Provide data and problem-solving support for Financial Aid initiatives that impact persistence, SAP, and student success.
+ Ensure enrollment and financial aid processes are coordinated to remove barriers to student progression.
Data, Analytics, & Forecasting
+ Lead development of enrollment dashboards, analytics, and predictive modeling to inform institutional decision-making.
+ Apply data analysis to forecast enrollment trends, for new and continuing students.
+ Forecast staffing needs and process volumes using historical data and predictive models to plan resources effectively.
+ Use data to identify barriers, prioritize solutions, and evaluate the effectiveness of enrollment and retention strategies.
+ Translate complex data into actionable insights for university leadership.
Compliance & Institutional Effectiveness
+ Ensure compliance with all state, federal, accreditation, and system laws and policies.
+ Oversee development of compliance calendars, documentation, and staff training to guarantee timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.
+ Maintain strong awareness of statewide and national trends in enrollment management, regulatory compliance, and higher education policy to keep Texas A&M–SA aligned and competitive.
Technology & Innovation
+ Champion adoption of new technologies and digital tools to enhance operations and improve student success and customer service delivery.
+ Partner with IT and university leadership to implement Student Information System (SIS) improvements and related technology platforms.
+ Explore and integrate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance data analytics, student communication, process automation, and service efficiency.
Leadership, Decision-Making & Resource Management
+ Supervise and mentor direct reports, cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence.
+ Provide decisive leadership on issues impacting registration, scheduling, policy implementation, and enrollment management operations, ensuring effective collaboration with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Student Business Services, and other campus partners to deliver coordinated solutions.
+ Oversee and strategically allocate budgets, contracts, and resources to support Enrollment Management priorities, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with institutional goals.
+ Forecast and allocate staffing needs based on predictive data and operational trends.
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
+ Ten (10) years of progressively responsible management experience, including some supervisory experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
+ Master’s degree.
+ Doctorate degree.
+ Seven ( 7)– Ten (10) years of progressive leadership in enrollment management, registrar, financial aid, and/or student success operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Expertise in enrollment management operations, compliance, customer service, and cross-divisional collaborations.
+ Strong record of collaboration with Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Student Business Services, and other cross-campus partners.
+ Demonstrated ability to apply data analytics, dashboards, predictive modeling, and emerging technologies (including AI) to solve institutional challenges and inform strategy.
+ Proven leadership in managing teams, improving systems, mapping processes, and driving institutional effectiveness.
+ Deep knowledge of state, federal, accreditation, and system laws and policies affecting enrollment management, with awareness of emerging state and national trends.
+ Excellent communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and change management skills.
