    The position of **Alternate Site Business Manager** is within BD’s Specimen Management (SM) Business Unit. BD’s Specimen Management portfolio is an extensive and comprehensive range of clinically differentiated products helping to deliver specimen quality and integrity, improved patient experience, and a safe environment for healthcare workers

     

    We are seeking a results-driven professional to build and scale our Alternate Site channel which is a $250M+ business. This role is ideal for a strong performer ready to take the next step in their career. Someone who thrives in creating structure where none exists, driving growth through new strategies, and building partnerships that deliver results.

     

    This role provides the opportunity to own and grow a significant business segment within Specimen Management and the ability to shape future investment and field support models. This is a high-growth environment that is intended to prepare you for broader leadership roles within the organization.

     

    **Key Responsibilities** :

     

    Critical to success in this role will be the candidate’s strategic capability, commercial acumen and growth mindset coupled with an ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization to influence change and deliver impactful results.

     

    + **Channel Strategy & Growth:** Develop and execute strategies to scale BD’s Alternate Site business, with a focus on sustainable, double-digit growth.

    + **Dealer Development** : Identify, onboard, and manage dealer partners; create and manage incentive programs that drive performance.

    + **Customer Management:** Directly engage with and manage relationships with key strategic customers in the Alternate Site channel.

    + **Go-to-Market Design:** Evaluate and implement the optimal support structure for growth (e.g., inside sales, independent 1099 reps, regional coverage models, etc.).

    + **Collaboration:** Work cross-functionally with sales leadership, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure strategies align with overall BD priorities.

    + **Execution & Tracking:** Establish KPIs, track performance, and adjust strategies to meet growth and profitability targets.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA a plus but not required).

    + 5–8 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or channel management; medical device or healthcare industry preferred.

    + Travel 50-75%.

    + Demonstrated ability to create and execute growth strategies, particularly in underdeveloped markets or new business areas.

    + Strong relationship management skills with experience influencing dealer/distributor networks and large customers.

    + Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and build processes from the ground up.

    + Proven ability to analyze business performance and make data-driven recommendations.

    + High potential leader—ambitious, resourceful, and motivated to take on greater responsibility as the business grows.

For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance. There are many factors, such as location, that contribute to the range displayed. The salary offered to a successful candidate is based on experience, education, skills, and actual work location. Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles.
