Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Job Description

Join a leading general contractor with a diverse portfolio, specializing in both national retail projects and local construction work. This role offers a balance of 50% national travel retail work and 50% local GC/subcontractor projects. Responsibilities

+ Attend and document OAC meetings.

+ Coordinate with subcontractors and superintendents.

+ Manage RFIs and submittals.

+ Assist with purchase orders and material procurement.

+ Set up vendors and job sites.

+ Upload and manage documents across various construction software platforms.

+ Liaise between field and office teams.

+ Support project setup and closeout processes.

Essential Skills

+ 1–2 years of construction experience with General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Sub Contractor.

+ Familiarity with construction terminology such as RFIs and submittals.

+ Strong document control and organizational skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

+ Experience with construction management software like Procore and Autodesk.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Teachable, adaptable, and proactive mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Degree in Construction Management or related field.

+ Experience in retail construction, tenant improvements, or refresh/renovation projects.

+ Desire and flexibility to travel more if opportunities arise.

+ Familiarity with multiple construction platforms and systems.

Work Environment

This position requires working in the Columbus, IN office five days a week initially, with potential flexibility to work from the Downtown Indianapolis office once trust is built. The role involves a structured yet flexible work culture, emphasizing autonomy, trust, and family-first values. This is an onsite permanent position based out of Columbus, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/hr.
