QC Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent QC Technician to join our team, working from 7am to 7pm. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time on the production floor, utilizing computers stationed alongside the production lines to document data and identify any non-conformances. This role involves ensuring that all products meet specified quality standards and escalating any issues to the QA Lead. The QC Technician will start each shift by setting up and verifying the quality equipment and conduct visual inspections to ensure products have clear labels and barcodes.
Responsibilities
+ Understand and demonstrate safe work practices while working.
+ Monitor the statistical process control (SPC) software suite called Gainseeker.
+ Monitor, measure, and document line processes to ensure conformance to product master specifications.
+ Examine and document packaging components and finished product assembly for conformance to master specifications.
+ Program, calibrate, and assist in the setup of Hi-Speed check weighers, Videojet, and Marsh coders.
+ Program and monitor the Automated Inventory Management system for tracking finished production.
+ Place non-conforming products on hold for disposition by the QC Manager.
+ Pull product retain samples.
+ Comply with all company policies and procedures.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with GMP, quality inspection, and GMP/FDA regulations.
+ Proficient in quality assurance, QC, document control, and working in a regulated environment.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
+ Understanding of batch records, SOPs, and quality checks.
+ Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, conversions).
+ Attention to detail and ability to spot non-conforming products.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma minimum with experience or an Associate's degree in a lab-related discipline.
+ Interest in the pesticide and home protection manufacturing industry.
+ Experience in a regulated or quality control environment preferred.
+ Strong soft skills, including a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
+ Experience in industries such as crop science or manufacturing is not required; candidates from the restaurant industry may also be suitable.
+ Pride in work quality and attention to detail.
Work Environment
The QC Technician will spend nearly all their time on the plant floor, occasionally spending time in the lab. This role requires being on your feet daily to conduct inspections. This is a supportive role, ideal for someone looking to learn about the pesticide and home protection manufacturing business within crop science. There are opportunities for exposure to various instrumentation and cutting-edge products, with potential for promotion as the organization continues to grow.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr.
