Job Title: EHS ManagerJob Description

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety and environmental protocols at a manufacturing plant. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and compliance standards, with the aim of maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment.

Responsibilities

+ Lead all EHS requirements by setting an example for others to follow.

+ Create a culture of awareness, acceptance, and adherence to EHS requirements.

+ Develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain health, safety, environmental, industrial, and process safety programs and related training.

+ Track, report, and analyze key safety and environmental metrics to meet KPI requirements and reduce exposure and control risk.

+ Audit, analyze, and collate EHS performance data to propose effective improvements.

+ Perform facility audits, surveys, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations, offering solutions or process improvements.

+ Recommend and implement new green processes in collaboration with regulatory and corporate compliance through established auditing processes and risk analysis.

+ Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure safe material handling.

+ Lead safety and hazard assessments, including Process Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis.

+ Attend and deliver training in EHS/HSE/SHE skills and knowledge.

+ Administer and manage the Workers' Compensation program.

+ Track compliance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements.

+ Lead Safety Team and Waste Minimization Team programs to improve EHS performance.

+ Prepare, submit, and document all EPA and OSHA requirements, including OSHA 300 logs and various environmental permits.

+ Develop and implement training for personnel to ensure understanding and compliance with EHS programs.

+ Oversee chemical and hazardous waste management, including transportation.

+ Support and manage the EHS budget, reviewing EHS-related invoices.

+ Lead emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills and plan updates.

+ Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and after-action reviews, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Essential Skills

+ 5-10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ 5+ years in an EHS leadership or management role.

+ Experience in automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier is helpful.

+ Experience with ISO and OHSAS implementation and certification.

+ Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA compliance standards and regulations.

+ Experience in risk management, ergonomics, and industrial safety.

+ Successful track record of designing and managing employee safety programs.

+ Ability to implement process improvements and programming.

+ Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate degree in Safety, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant discipline is helpful.

+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.

+ Experience with SAP is preferred.

+ Understanding of automotive plants and manufacturing processes is a plus.

Work Environment

The employee will work in indoor office and warehouse environments. Physical tasks include frequent standing, walking, and sitting, occasional bending, reaching, and lifting. Fine manipulation is constant, and the role requires occasional pushing and pulling. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mesa, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

Hyndai- Transys covers 90% of med/dental/optical costs with a $300 deductible10 days vacation (not negotiable) they add 1 day for each year of service is completePlant shut down over the holidays in December is paid This position is eligible for OT after 45 hours worked, payable at 1.5X. (should expect to make $10-15K in excess of salary).EOY bonus $2-5K based on performanceSummer Bonus $1,200 (everyone gets this one)
