Job Title: Civil Transportation EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Transportation Engineer to join our team, working closely with Senior Project Managers on municipal and other public work projects. This role offers the flexibility to evolve into a Project Management position or remain focused on production tasks. While a Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required initially, candidates aiming for a Project Management role must possess or be willing to pursue their PE license.

Responsibilities

+ Perform quantity calculations and design computations.

+ Execute geometric design of transportation infrastructure.

+ Engage in roadway design and adhere to INDOT processes and procedures.

+ Design traffic signals and lighting systems.

+ Conduct drainage design, including pipe sizing, inlet spacing, culvert design, and permitting.

+ Coordinate with utility services.

+ Monitor construction for compliance with contract documents and approved submissions.

+ Record field observations and verify contractor's quality control.

+ Make field measurements and maintain project records as per established standards.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

+ Minimum of 4 years’ experience in transportation engineering.

+ Ability to obtain PE license within a year, with preference for candidates already possessing a PE.

+ Proficiency in Civil 3D, stormwater management, drainage systems, and roadway design.

+ Experience with project management in civil engineering design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

+ Familiarity with local and state government regulations and standards.

The role is based in a small, casual office located in a nice office suite in downtown Indianapolis. Our team consists of a tight-knit group of professionals dedicated to a variety of transportation, stormwater, and construction inspection projects across Indiana. The environment is relaxed but focused on meeting project deadlines. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $72.12/hr.
