We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Specialist to lead QA efforts across solar field construction projects, from ground-breaking through commissioning. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, conducts audits, and analyzes documentation and data to uphold quality across all phases of solar project execution. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a complete understanding of solar project workflows including civil works, pile installation, and panel mounting.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct audits and inspections of solar field construction activities including civil works, pile installation, and panel mounting.
+ Review and analyze project documentation, test results, and compliance reports.
+ Lead quality control efforts across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
+ Ensure adherence to NEC, IEC, UL, and other applicable standards.
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to implement corrective actions.
+ Maintain detailed records of inspections, deviations, and resolutions.
+ Support commissioning and post-commissioning quality validation.
+ Promote and enforce safety and sustainability standards on-site.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of direct experience in quality assurance within solar or energy infrastructure projects.
+ Advanced understanding of solar project lifecycle—from site prep to commissioning.
+ Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, construction codes, and solar technologies.
+ Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and standardized work documentation.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA software tools.
+ Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5-10 years experience in quality assurance for solar farm construction/maintenance.
+ Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPS certification.
+ Experience with 8D, PDCA, A3, or DMAIC problem-solving frameworks.
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design tools.
+ NABCEP certification or equivalent solar industry credentials.
+ OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
+ Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
+ Proven leadership experience; ability to direct and mentor junior QA staff.
+ Willingness to travel to field sites and work in outdoor environments.
+ Strong judgment and creativity in resolving complex quality issues.
Work Environment
The role involves working in solar field construction sites with a focus on quality assurance and safety standards. The candidate will be expected to travel to various field sites and work in outdoor environments. The work environment requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong leadership skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
