Job Title: Environmental Technician
We are seeking a part-time Environmental Technician to support stormwater sampling work. The Technician will travel to industrial facilities to collect stormwater samples, perform inspections, collect data, and prepare for laboratory tests. Initial training will be provided, but most of the work will be performed independently. This role requires flexibility for out-of-state and overnight travel.
This is a part-time role with roughly 30 hours per week anticipated, but varying. The technician is required to collect samples when it rains in the sample area, which may occur outside regular business hours. Once sample quota is hit for the quarter, the work will pause until the following quarter. During periods without sampling work, efforts will be made to assign other tasks, with potential opportunities to shadow and assist different departments., but it is not guaranteed. An opportunity to get foot in the door with the company and grow into other desired career paths.
Responsibilities
+ Collect stormwater samples from industrial facilities for inspection and testing.
+ Submit results and deliver samples to the laboratory.
+ Communicate with the data analyst in real-time via a smartphone application while collecting samples.
+ Travel occasionally to other states within the region and undertake overnight trips.
+ Collaborate with Project Managers to gain experience in Industrial Hygiene, Remediation, EH&S, or Due Diligence teams.
Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
+ Preferred coursework in environmental studies and sampling.
+ Possession of a smartphone.
+ Willingness to travel and work outside regular business hours.
+ Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
+ Experience in environmental science and water sampling is a plus.
+ Ability to perform environmental site assessments and report writing is a plus.
+ Proficiency in groundwater and stormwater sampling is a plus.
Work Environment
This position involves conducting water samples for a long-term contract across various locations throughout Ohio & surrounding states. Work can include up to 5 sites per day, traveling in a company vehicle. Required to work when it rains in sample area, which may occur outside regular business hours.
The role averages about 30 hours per week, with on-site work dependent on rainfall. Once sampling quota is hit for the quarter, the work will pause until the next quarter. During periods without sampling work, efforts will be made to assign other tasks, with potential opportunities to shadow and assist different departments., but it is not guaranteed. Although the contract aims to transition into a direct role, this is not guaranteed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
