    Job Title: MIG Welder

    Job Description

    The Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This role involves operating welding equipment, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe work environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Fabricate and weld metal components using MIG welding techniques.

    + Operate welding equipment to produce high-quality welds.

    + Ensure all work is performed in accordance with blueprints and specifications.

    + Perform MIG tack welding to hold metal pieces in place before final welding.

    + Execute straight line MIG welds, both in position and out of position, maintaining consistency.

    + Inspect welds visually to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.

    + Collaborate with team members to complete welding tasks efficiently.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and possibly aluminum.

    + Experience welding stainless steel with thickness ranging from 14g to 3/4" plate.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.

    + Skills in metal fabrication, including cutting, grinding, and fitting parts.

    + Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Around 2-3 years of experience working as a welder in a manufacturing environment or a graduate from a welding trade school.

    + Manual dexterity with steady hands and good hand-eye coordination.

    + Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.

    + Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE use.

    + Attention to detail and precision in measurements and weld quality.

    + Effective time management to meet production deadlines.

    + Teamwork and collaboration with other welders and engineers.

    + Problem-solving skills to identify and correct welding issues.

    Work Environment

     

    This role is set in a manufacturing environment where the temperature matches the outside conditions during the summer. Water stations and access to ice pops are provided to help manage the heat. The workspace is organized with materials laid out neatly, and there is frequent movement of forklifts, requiring awareness of surroundings.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lindenwood, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
