Job Title: CNC Operator
Job Description
The CNC Operator plays a crucial role in producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines as well as manual machines. This role is vital for maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping precise records, and ensuring the maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities
+ Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
+ Manage stock inventory by checking availability, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
+ Program mills by entering instructions, setting tool registers, and calculating requirements using math, geometry, and trigonometry.
+ Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting equipment and indicating vices.
+ Load feed mechanisms by positioning stock correctly.
+ Verify settings by measuring positions and first-run part samples, adhering to international standards.
+ Maintain specifications through operations like drilling, grooving, and cutting, troubleshooting, and adjusting controls.
+ Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
+ Maintain equipment by following preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
+ Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
+ Complete production and quality logs.
+ Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with 3-axis or 5-axis mill machining.
+ 3-5 years of experience in a machining environment.
+ Proficient in operating CNC mills, lathes, drill press, and surface grinders.
+ Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with Haas, Fanuc, and Mastercam systems.
+ Experience with calipers, micrometers, vertical and horizontal milling machines.
+ Proficiency in inspection, manual machining, and machine shop tooling.

Work Environment
The work environment is a state-of-the-art facility with a climate-controlled production floor and a comfortable cafeteria. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Wilsonville, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
