Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for raw material and incoming product inspection activities, adhering to company and customer-defined quality requirements. The role supports the Quality Department by verifying purchased materials, production materials, and finished goods, and assists in general Quality Department activities as directed.

Responsibilities

+ Perform in-process, GP-12, shipping, and receiving inspection activities as needed.

+ Audit production inspection reports as required.

+ Conduct plant round part and process inspections as directed.

+ Execute Final Product Audits.

+ Perform product certification, containment, and sorting activities under the direction of the Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager.

+ Support production sampling for quality testing activities.

+ Book finished goods products and print zebra labels for production as needed.

+ Issue and/or provide training on Quality Alerts as necessary.

Essential Skills

+ 1-3 years of experience in product inspection and quality control activities.

+ Demonstrated proficiency utilizing metrology and inspection tools.

+ Proficient in interpreting quality specifications, part drawings, and written procedures.

+ Proficient with PC use, including Excel and MS Word.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in quality, mechanical skills, manufacturing, visual inspection, and assembly.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility producing metal exhaust systems for automotive manufacturers. The environment involves tube bending, tube assembly, manufacturing, and shipping. While the pace is fast, the workplace is very clean and organized. Some areas may be louder than others, and employees should be prepared for consistent loud noises from the machinery. The dress code requires compliance with all PPE and safety requirements, including wearing steel-toe shoes at all times in the plant. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection will be provided. Shorts are not permitted.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.04 - $20.00/hr.
