Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s OneTech Digital Corporate Experiences (DCX) Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Technical Project Manager/Product Owner.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical project management expertise and guidance for the TMNA Regulatory Affairs and Environmental Sustainability (RAES) team. Serving as technical project consultant providing subject matter expertise for RAES projects and maintaining application portfolio by managing application support teams, vendor relationships, along with performing vendor and contract management tasks.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development and success of our digital solutions for the Regulatory Affairs and Environmental Sustainability department by bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. This role is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that the development team delivers high-quality products that meet customer needs and business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of project management best practices, the software development life cycle process, technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Reporting to the OneTech Legal and Regulatory Systems Manager, the person in this role will support the OneTech Digital Corporate Experience department's objective to partner with our TMNA customers to provide high value services, solutions and support to meet their business requirements and needs.
What you’ll be doing
+ Managing a portfolio of applications and projects on behalf of the RAES team
+ Gain a strong working knowledge of rules, regulations, upcoming legislation changes, and business processes to best represent the desired business outcomes
+ Leading non-technical customers through software development, data migration, data management, and business analysis efforts to establish requirements and explain outcomes for project requests
+ Manage application development and support teams
+ Serve as the technical product owner for RAES applications and keep customers informed of technical standards and best practices required by OneTech for application development, maintenance, and support
+ Provide direction to application support teams establishing work priorities and adherence to OneTech standards/best practices
+ Partner with external OneTech teams to gain alignment on project deliverables, prioritization, and timing of delivery
What you bring
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or demonstrated equivalent experience
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience overseeing software platform implementations, web application development teams, and delivering technical solutions to support business processes
+ Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices
+ Experience translating business needs/requests into technical requirements, breaking down complex technical practices into easy-to-understand guidance and insights for technical teams and customers

+ Regulatory background or experience
+ Familiarity with chemical and emissions regulations at state, federal, and international levels
+ Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA
+ Proficiency in business process analysis to identify improvement opportunities through process mapping and requirements gathering
+ Data analytics experience using big data tools and concepts
+ Additional Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Product Owner (CPO)
