    Summary You will serve as a Hazardous Waste Disposer (Fork Lift Operator) in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will identify, collect, package, transport and store hazardous materials and wastes and perform fluid pumping operations to transfer hazardous liquids for proper disposal. You will operates waste storage areas and disposal facilities, and numerous hazardous waste accumulation sites through the Shipyard and its tenant activities. You will assist in the operation of the industrial wastewater pre-treatment facilities including computer operation, pumping facilities, tanks, piping, filters, demineralizers, and chemical handling and storage. You will review and determine whether containers are Department of Transportation (DOT) approved and rejects items not meeting this requirement. You will provide DOT hazardous material identification and labeling for shipment and ensure all material and wastes removed are properly containerized, labeled, and documented in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. You will perform vehicle inspections to ensure transportation and safety standards are met as related to hazardous material transportation. You will operate trucks, vans and flatbeds (up to 66,000 GVW) for transporting hazardous waste and material. You will operate Class 4 forklift trucks for loading, unloading, staging, and storing material (6,000 lbs). Operates spill clean-up equipment such as the oil spill scrubber or an eductor truck. You will operate and complete minor maintenance and repairs of portable and fixed pumps, tanks, and other hazardous waste handling equipment. You will arrange for movement of portable tanks and pumping equipment to production shops for pumping various chemicals used in metal preparation and treatment. You will perform periodic inspections of hazardous material storage areas, conducts periodic inventories, operates the bulk waste storage area, plans and coordinates movement of roll-off boxes (dumpsters) through Shipyard work sites. You will complete inventory and inspection forms and logs for stored hazardous materials and waste. You will prepare documentation required to evaluate problems concerning environmentally sensitive property. You will ensure that all records, reports and documentation are complete, accurate and available for review, including those required for record keeping and reporting. You will enter data on hazardous material issue, transfers, and turn-ins into the database ensuring accountability of hazardous material location.
