Job Description:

The ITW Food Equipment Weigh Wrap division is seeking a qualified Material Handler for our facility located in Hillsboro, OH.

Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions)

+ Support Production material needs in a timely efficient manner.

+ Stocking received purchase orders (PO) to the point of use (POU).

+ Placement of PO’s for specified parts, including C-item and inventory, review of exception reports to assist with notification and/or delivery of incoming product to production lines, materials group, production supervisors, etc.

+ Inventory maintenance responsibility up to/including system updates for cycle counting and reporting, also assisting with cycle counting issues to troubleshoot root cause, resolution and alleviation of future occurrences, collaborate with Materials for Kan Ban set-up including creation and maintenance of cards, setting up bins and stocking areas, may assist with back-flushing inventory or updating records upon shipping

+ Attention to detail – ensure materials are delivered and put away in correct areas, ensure accuracy in shipping documentation, ensure entries to Vantage & Epicor or other inventory functions are updated correctly, understands the correlation between inventory entry and financial impact, discovers or anticipates issues and communicates appropriately

+ Coordinates all service orders, including entering sales order, notifying line supervisors and materials as required for manufactured parts and/or large orders that could impact plant production, keying of inventory, either inventory transfer or kan ban receipt, and packaging for shipment

+ Adherence to safety standards including, but not limited to, forklift inspection/maintenance, work-area housekeeping, and safe loading/unloading of semi- trailers and storage racks

Responsibilities (20% Department-specific Core Essential Functions)

+ Familiar with RMA process, rejects damaged items, documents. Assist with DMR/RA processes for all defective parts or equipment for replacement or credit including the facilitation of returning parts to the supplier

+ Communicates effectively/ utilizes teamwork with appropriate cross-functional personnel, including management, accounting, purchasing, assembly, engineering, customer service, service, warehouse, etc. May communicate with outside vendors in person, over the phone or via email for purposes related to materials including expediting and problem/issue resolution

+ Audit incoming materials as required for correct piece counts per requirements, inspect materials if applicable, involve engineering when necessary

+ Prepare and expedite shipments, warehouse or direct, including banding/ shrink wrapping, creating bills of lading, preparing and affixing shipping labels if required, entry of shipping data into applicable computer system (Vantage, Epicor, UPS Software)

+ File and maintain all required documents, understand document retention requirements and disposition

+ Assist/train other employees in understanding the Kan Ban and MRD processes

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout workday

+ Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

+ High School/Vocational School Diploma or GED required

Skills/Abilities

+ Computer skills including Microsoft, Excel, Word and Outlook

+ Effective and professional oral and written communication

+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adjust workflow based on business needs

+ Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines

+ Ability to work independently

+ Working knowledge of parts/application for use

+ Basic math/measuring skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ Vantage/ Epicor experience/ knowledge, UPS shipping software knowledge

+ Forklift certification

+ Understanding of MRD application and Kan Ban/ 2 bin system and differentiation of expense items compared to inventory parts, cycle counting procedures

Additional information

+ Manufacturing, non-air conditioned environment.

+ PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection. Based on job duties the following PPE could be required: Ear protection, gloves, sleeves, or other.

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and arms and walk frequently.
