Mortgage Underwriter
System One is partnering with a client seeing an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Underwriter to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience underwriting Conventional, FHA (DE), and VA (SAR) loans, with additional experience in HUD-184 and USDA loans considered a plus.
Responsibilities:
+ Review and underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans in compliance with agency and investor guidelines required.
+ Analyze credit, income, and asset documentation to determine borrower eligibility
+ Identify potential issues and collaborate with the loan team to develop effective solutions
+ Utilize Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector (GUS familiarity a plus) for automated underwriting decisions
+ Maintain high levels of accuracy, organization, and timeliness in loan file reviews
Qualifications:
+ Minimum 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience (Conventional, FHA, VA)
+ Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
+ Proficient with Encompass or similar LOS software required
+ Highly detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
+ Positive, energetic, and team-oriented personality
