    POSITION: StagehandDEPARTMENT: StagehandREPORTS TO: Production ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

     

    HOURLY RATE: $26.00 per hour

     

    Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an exciting opportunity for a Stagehand at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. This role involves setting up, operating, and striking events according to written, verbal, and equipment requirements. You will also ensure that all equipment is maintained in good working order while adhering to safety requirements, procedures, and codes.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Collaborate with co-workers, clients, and sub-contractors to produce high-quality events.

    + Follow assignments from the Stage Supervisor or Production Manager.

    + Read stage plots, light plots, and other technical documents to execute set-up.

    + Report any accidents, building damage, or incidents involving outside companies within the building.

    + Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the work environment for upcoming events.

    + Ensure the completion of assigned tasks unless otherwise released by the supervisor.

    + Notify the supervisor of equipment in need of repair or if supplies are running low.

    + Comply with the facility’s dress code and grooming standards.

    + Follow safety guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.

    + Adhere to the policies set by SMG and the Stagehand Department.

    + Perform other related duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications:To successfully perform in this role, an individual must be able to meet the essential duties outlined below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    Education and Experience:

    + High School diploma or GED; trade school or some college preferred.

    + 2+ years of experience in show production or live entertainment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Skills and Abilities:

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    + General knowledge of theatrical carpentry, lighting, sound, video, and basic rigging skills.

    + Strong problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Ability to perform well under time constraints.

    + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.

    + Ability to read and comprehend instructional materials.

    + Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    + Professional appearance, presentation, and strong work ethic.

    Computer Skills:

    + Basic computer knowledge required.

    Other Qualifications:

    + Ability to climb and work from lifts, ladders, and catwalks for long periods as needed.

    + Ability to move around the facility, stand for long hours, and interact with the public during events.

    + Physical stamina to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 lbs.

    + Specific vision abilities required, including close vision for inspecting systems and repairs.

    + Exposure to moderate to extreme noise levels during events.

     

    Work Environment:This position may involve working indoors or outdoors during events and can require the employee to be exposed to various conditions. Regular physical activity, including climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and working at height, is necessary.
