The VP, Data & Analytics will lead our organization through a data-driven transformation. This leader will be responsible for building a high-performing data and analytics function, developing a modernized roadmap, and enabling business leaders with actionable insights that drive growth and innovation. This is a pivotal role for a collaborative executive who thrives on establishing a strong foundation, scaling teams, and guiding companies through measurement and digital change. The VP, Data & Analytics will report to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and will play a critical role in supporting enterprise strategic planning, developing board-level insights, and delivering data-driven intelligence that guides enterprise priorities, project tracking, and execution.
1) Strategic Leadership & Planning: Define and oversee the enterprise-wide data and analytics initiative in alignment with enterprise objectives and priorities. Partner with CSO on strategic planning measurements, metrics to inform board materials, and enterprise scorecards.
2) Data Infrastructure and Governance: Oversee the design and implementation of data platforms, pipelines, and governance frameworks in alignment with defined roadmap. Partner with CIO and technology team to ensure data is accurate, secure, and scalable and to evaluate and implement the right analytical tools.
3) Measurement & Insights Delivery: Lead the development of executive dashboards, advanced and predictive analytics, and support senior leadership reporting. Ensure analysis is actionable and directly supports decision-making, enterprise priorities, and project tracking.
4) Team Building and Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing data and analytics team. Build processes that enable scalable delivery of analytical capabilities.
5) Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory: Collaborate with senior leadership and business leaders across functions to embed data into decisions, provide forward-looking evidence, and advise on opportunities to leverage data for growth and efficiency.
6) Innovation and Transformation: Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics. Introduce new tools and methodologies that transform how the organization uses data to drive differentiation.
7) Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level.
8) Manages vendor relationships, including:
a) Involvement in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting vendors.
b) Participation in the negotiating of contracts with potential vendors to ensure optimal pricing and mitigation of third-party risks.
c) Ongoing monitoring of vendors (of both performance and reputation) to ensure they provide quality products and services in alignment with organizational goals.
Required Skills
1) 15+ years of progressive experience in data analytics or data science roles, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
2) Demonstrated success in building and scaling data and analytics teams and leading organizational transformation.
3) Deep understanding of data platforms, architecture, and governance (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or related).
4) Expertise with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or related).
5) Prior experience with programming and statistical languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to guide advanced statistics and machine learning projects.
6) Understanding statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning frameworks with prior experience in programming and statistical language (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
7) Knowledge of data governance, regulatory compliance, and risk frameworks.
8) Awareness of AI/ML technologies and ability to translate them into business applications.
9) Ability to define vision, build roadmaps, and align book of work with enterprise priorities.
10) Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
11) Ability to partner cross-functionally with Strategy, IT, Finance, Marketing, and other business areas.
12) Strong quantitative problem-solving skills; ability to apply advanced analytics to solve business problems.
13) Bachelor’s degree in economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
Advanced degree (MS in Analytics, Statistics or related discipline) preferred.
