IT Infrastructure Engineer

CTG is seeking to fill an IT Infrastructure Engineer position for our client in New York, NY.
Duties:
+ Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of enterprise IT infrastructure systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
+ Lead a team of infrastructure engineers responsible for system administration, capacity planning, performance management, and disaster recovery.
+ Develop and implement strategic infrastructure solutions to enhance scalability and resiliency.
+ Manage infrastructure projects including hardware and software upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
+ Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and proactively address capacity or performance issues.
+ Maintain version control and software lifecycle management for infrastructure systems.
+ Collaborate with vendors to maintain strong relationships, resolve technical issues, and plan for capacity growth.
+ Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards.
+ Participate in off-hours support and scheduled maintenance as needed to minimize business disruptions.
+ Contribute to fiscal and resource planning related to hardware, software, and infrastructure projects.
Skills:
+ Strong technical expertise in infrastructure management, system administration, and operations for enterprise environments.
+ Experience with mainframe systems, z/OS, or alternatively with AIX/Linux/Unix platforms.
+ Knowledge of enterprise storage systems, backup, and recovery solutions.
+ Proven ability to plan, manage, and execute infrastructure projects within defined timelines.
+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills across complex systems.
+ Strong understanding of performance monitoring, capacity planning, and DR processes.
+ Vendor and stakeholder management experience.
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
Experience:
+ Minimum of 8 years of full-time experience in IT infrastructure engineering, datacenter operations, or cloud environments.
+ Proven experience leading teams or projects in large-scale enterprise settings.
+ Experience with infrastructure performance optimization, monitoring, and security best practices.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
