Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, with primary offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C. is looking for a Talent Development Manager to join its Chicago office. The Talent Development Manager will shape the learning experiences that empower every employee to grow, learn and thrive.
In this role you will design, manage, and facilitate company-wide learning and development initiatives that strengthen employee growth and engagement. Reporting to theDirector of Talent Development, you will partner across HR and business units to provide dotted-line guidance to team members on key projects and initiatives. We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, hands-on professional who will help us evolve our programming, deliver engaging learning experiences, and continuously improve the employee journey.

What You Will Do:
Lead and deliver a broad portfolio of talent development programs and projects, including:
+ Manager and Leader Development
+ Facilitate and manage thePeople Manager Development Program(DDI certified), a blended series of virtual and in-person sessions.
+ Design and DeliveryManager Basics,Coaching Series, andcustomized learning pathsfor senior managers and executives.
+ Performance Management
+ Support and enhance Smithbucklin’s company-wide performance management processes, creating resources and delivering training while coordinating goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews, and progress tracking to ensure consistency, accountability, and meaningful feedback across all teams.
+ Learning Design & Delivery
+ Develop skill-focused courses and target competency learning paths in support of the strategic plan.
+ Support and co-facilitateNew Employee Orientationand other company onboarding learning programs.
+ Leverage platforms such asLinkedIn Learningand to create customized learning strategies.
+ Onboarding & Employee Experience
+ Manageexecutive onboardingand design enhanced new-hire programs in collaboration with HR and business units.
+ Engagement & Collaboration
+ Partner with employee-led groups and committees to drive engagement and inclusion.
+ Continuously improve curriculum quality and overall employee experience.
+ Provide project leadership for additional Talent Development initiatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
+ 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with supervisory responsibilities preferred
+ Previous project management experience desired
+ Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ DDI (Development Dimensions International) certification is a plus
+ Train-the-trainer instruction and adult learning theory experience

Our hybrid environment offers you the option of working from home two days per week. Employees will work a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines. Smithbucklin considers several factors when determining compensation, including a candidate's recent coursework, training, experience, and certifications, among other considerations. The expected pay for this role is $90,000 – $115,000.
