ATI is seeking a Quality Intern to join our team for Summer 2026! This position is part of the Specialty Alloys and Components (SA&C) business unit based in Huntsville, Alabama. This is an onsite, day shift position and typically works Monday-Friday, 30-40 hours per week. Our Summer 2026 Internship Program runs from June to August.

As an intern at ATI, youll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly exceptional things. The projects and skills outlined below will be guided and directed by an established ATI-Professional in your field of interest.
This internship project is designed for engineering students to gain experience working closely with quality engineers in an alloy metal processing manufacturing environment to tackle real world problems to supply quality products to Aerospace, Chemical Processing, Medical, and Nuclear industries. The students will be given the assignments related to improve cost of quality performance and efficiency in quality control processes by engaging in daily quality management tasks with quality engineers.
Responsibilities Could Include:
+ Assist quality engineers to prepare quality planning for various metal products to ensure to meet required industry specifications.
+ Assist quality engineers to review manufacturing instructions submitted by process engineers for quality approval.
+ Engage in document control and quality record management activities throughout the manufacturing facility to meet ISO 9001/AS 9100D industry standard compliance requirement.
+ Support calibration engineer to perform inspection gauge calibrations.
+ Assist with material testing data entries for material certification technicians to evaluate for compliance to customer requirements.
+ Support quality engineers on quality compliance audits and manufacturing process audits to determine the compliance to the requirements.
+ Support quality engineers to create quality alerts to communicate to production and inspection technicians for various observed non-conforming issues.
+ Engage in cross functional communication activities to improve various quality risks or manufacturing issues.
Skills to Be Experienced or Learned:
+ Learn quality engineering daily tasks at metal manufacturing facility from ASQ certified quality engineers.
+ Learn quality engineering data processing, record, and document processing tasks.
+ Learn inspection gauges and its calibration process.
+ Gain experiences in cross-functional communication and problem-solving for real world manufacturing problems.
+ Exposure to quality management concepts including, KPI, risk analysis and management/PFMEA, industry standards, customer contracts, quality planning, production travelers, work instructions, test and inspection reports, material certifications, and control plans.
+ Participate in various quality audits and management meeting to learn quality compliance activities.
