Job description
Lead Engineering Liaison Specialist position requires an individual to be detail oriented and mechanically inclined with a good work ethics. The individual is going to be responsible for setting up and supporting engineering tests as well as assist with packing evacuation systems and other model shop tasks as instructed by the supervisor. The individual must be able to carry on the delegation duties to lead model shop technical personnel as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
• 5+ years of experience in engineering model shop environment or/and related SAE segment;
• Must have minimum score of 3.0 in Performance Development Review (PDR) or/and above 2.0 in Selia.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as compute rate, ratio, and percent in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be familiar with standard engineering tests;
• Must be proficient with power tools utilization in a safe manner;
• Must have good communication and planning skills
• Fork lift and scissor lift certificates required;
• Work at height training required (including 5-point-harness);
• Tele-handler (type VII rough terrain) training preferred;
• Hazmat training is preferred.
• Lock out / Tag out training is preferred;
• Safety work instructions for power tools required.
• Must be willing to work year-round in the Engineering Test Center which is not climate controlled.
• This position requires lifting and moving objects of up to 50lbs;
• This position requires working in kneeling positions and applying high-strength forces during packing duties;
• This position requires to work with various chemicals such as acetone, alcohol, epoxy etc.
Candidate skills & requirements
• Rig, pack, and deploy evacuation systems.
• Set up mock ups, wind machines and various engineering equipment in correct locations for testing with the use of all material handling equipment.
• Directs and supervises engineering technician activities in absence of Engineering Test Services Manager and/or Model Shop Supervisor;
• Must be able to read and comprehend test drawings, sketches, test plans
• Rebuild and overall inflation valves, perform regulation adjustments;
• Repair evacuation system hardware such as packboards, lacing covers etc. ;
• Keep test center organized in accordance with 5S standards including TPMS;
• Inspect test center equipment and fill up checklists on daily basis including chemical cabinets;
• Assist and train model shop crew to rig, pack, and deploy evacuation systems;
• Support training customers or fellow technicians (MX packers) on new programs being introduced into production.
• Prepare aircraft doors for deployments (charging/pre-deployment setup);
• Install evacuation systems on mockups and support deployments;
• Operate tele-handler (type VII rough terrain), forklift, scissor lift and pallet jack;
• Read and work from posted schedule, adjust and prioritize schedule as needed;
• Work independently or in a team setting as required;
• Prepare rate test setups and participate in jump testing events;
• Support trips to local vendor facilities such as Fazzio, Home Depot, Mobil gas station etc.;
• Support certification efforts at customer's location;
• Maintain organization and tool control;
• Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture;
• Must have excellent attendance per company's attendance policy;
• Other duties may be assigned in accordance with technical level and expertise.
