We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Power & Controls, Electronics Manufacturing Operations team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in support of multiple manufacturing and development programs involving advanced electronic hardware for aircraft electrical systems. The successful candidate will drive productivity improvements, integrate new product introductions (NPI), implement zero-defect quality initiatives, and develop tooling solutions while leading both the Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Support Engineering (OSE) teams.
What You Will Do
+ Lead and set priorities for the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting multiple value streams across manufacturing and test cells producing end-item electrical assemblies.
+ Provide technical direction and oversight for the Operations Support Engineering (OSE) team, driving resolution of technical issues, supporting factory operations, and improving test outcomes.
+ Oversee employee development through mentoring, training, performance reviews, audits, manpower forecasting, and staffing.
+ Serve as the technical interface between the factory and program teams to coordinate process improvement initiatives, including EH&S, process certification, quality best practices, and lean manufacturing.
+ Apply manufacturing engineering and operations support expertise to resolve constraints and improve processes, product designs, and overall producibility.
+ Leverage technical knowledge influences business outcomes from concept design through recurring production.
+ Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects and process improvements across the extended value streams.
+ Act as the manufacturing, operations support, and producibility authority within the facility.
+ Partner with component and design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and producibility during early design phases.
+ Evaluate factory technical issues and escalate appropriately to program engineering, leadership, or materials engineering as needed.
+ Support Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Manufacturing Readiness Assessment / Manufacturing Maturity Assessment (MRA/MMA), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
+ Contribute to the resolution of quality issues, root cause and corrective action (RCCA) initiatives, and inter-factory coordination.
+ Actively engage in NPI efforts, design reviews, and collaboration with design and hardware engineering teams.
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Experience leading technical professionals in a manufacturing or operations engineering environment.
+ Working experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
+ Working ability to identify, reduce, and eliminate cost, quality, and schedule risks through technical engagement.
+ Experience leveraging factory and program performance data to drive improvements.
+ Working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and their application in manufacturing.
+ Experience with SAP.
+ Experience with DFMA, PFMEA, MRL/MRA, and APQP.
+ Ability to travel as required (10%).

**Onsite:** Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
