Principal Individual Contributor Role – Enterprise Health & Wellness Category.
This is a Band 5 Principal role reporting into Global Procurement & Third-Party Management (GPTPM) Sr. Director. In this role the individual is responsible for, leading direct procurement, sourcing strategy, deal structuring for, complex multifaceted supplier engagements, internal business stakeholder management. The role will support both Procurement and TPM activities **across** the Enterprise Health & Wellness Category where such support may be required.
This individual will help lead and or support supplier engagements across the category and help manage business relationships where there is no TPM support. The role requires developing effective working relationships with senior GPTPM executives, associates at all levels and key internal matrix partners across the Cigna Group organization cross functionally within the procurement category. Ability to work across several different subcategories and help drive complex deal structuring and effective negotiations to land the best outcomes for the business areas.
This resource must have experience in dealing with dynamic requirements that are tied to strategic level business objectives. To effectively manage the work this resource must have experience with conflict management, strategy structuring, influencing decisions and driving consensus. Further the role requires the individual to work collaboratively with other team members within the category that are the primary owner for the supplier engagement contracting.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Partial list of functions includes, but is not limited to:
+ Partner effectively with Category Sourcing peers & Business Partners for optimal results
+ Collaboratively lead supplier engagements and drive desired outcomes and complete contracting to the standards set by GPTPM. Keep all stakeholders informed of deal progress.
+ Evaluate market shifts to drive proactive supplier engagement to ensure The Cigna Group businesses are drawing value from the market shifts.
+ Engage on evaluate existing relationships and present a point of view on improvement potential, gain consensus and proceed to negotiations with the supplier.
+ Effectively communicate procurement practices to business and matrixed organizations to drive the complex deals to closure in a timely fashion.
+ Develop the appropriate documentation and consensus on large deal negotiations and drive the negotiations home in a timely fashion.
+ Create a roadmap of the upcoming deal renewals and identify potential deals for Band 5 focused negotiation effort, engage the category Band 5 manager and get consensus on the approach for deal renewal and the key roles and responsibilities for self and the team owning the deal in question.
+ Coordinate and Facilitate leadership meetings to drive awareness and consensus on deal progression or procurement deal identification.
+ Stay connected with the evolving technology intervention within the health and wellness space to ensure the right level of understanding on potential impacts.
+ Stay informed of new procurement financial constructs that are evolving within the market that will prove useful for The Cigna Group businesses to consider for their supplier engagements.
+ Partner with other category leads to help resolve complex deal negotiations and contracting efforts. Partner with individuals to help close out complex deal negotiations and contracting help.
+ Handle escalations, senior level discussions, and influencing outcomes through formal and informal channels with all stakeholders to meet speed-to-market goals, while demonstrating an understanding of risks and facilitating acceptance of risk decisions with the right parties.
+ Conduct periodic performance reviews with ELT and their largest / most strategic suppliers.
+ Partner with leadership and within GPTPM to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Report out to the GPTPM Senior Management Lead and other ELT/SLT leaders on initiatives and progress
KEY COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
General
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree required, master’s level degree preferred.
+ Ability to work effectively and comfortably in an extremely fast paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity
+ Deep negotiations, contracting and deal structuring knowledge.
+ Excellent written and oral communications, with ability to interact credibly and persuasively with senior members of The Cigna Group and suppliers’ management.
+ Excel at managing conflict and managing timelines on critical projects.
+ Deep financial and analytical skills and insight.
+ Strong presentation and influencing skills.
+ Clear and concise documentation capability.
Strongly preferred:
+ Minimum 8 years in strategic sourcing in a lead negotiation role.
+ Independently managed and executed at least three large negotiations (>=$25M value) in the last 12 months.
+ Have a sound healthcare or Pharmacy business understanding.
+ Able to demonstrate interaction with Band 6 plus on negotiation strategy alignment during the course of projects executed in the last 12 months.
+ Articulate and succinct communication

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 124,400 - 207,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
