    Staff Accountant - Fuel AccountingMajor Responsibilities:• Prepare and submit approximately 35 account reconciliations in accordance with monthly due dates, include full and detailed support and ensure identified issues are communicated and proactively pursued to resolution in a timely manner.• Prepare and submit monthly reports to Financial Reporting by due date• Prepare and submit monthly true-up entries as assigned during month end close• Prepare and submit other entries as assigned in accordance with due dates• Review balances on assigned accounts for reasonableness on 4th workday• Assist with incentive accounting activities as directed• Prepare daily CMEFT/Treasury tie out, research/resolve any discrepancies• Back-up for remote scanning of Wholesale checks for deposit• Other tasks as assigned

     

    Skills needed:• Accounting degree with at least 2-5 years of experience - preferably in general accounting with account reconciliation and journal entry experience• Understanding of GAAP• Strong analytical thinker with problem-solving skills• Proficient in Excel including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP’s• PDI and Oracle skills helpful but not necessary• Good verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work extended or early hours during month end closing (first 5 workdays of the month). This includes possibly staying late on 4th workday and arriving at work at 6 am on 5th workday due to close deadlines.
