Summary
The Robotics Field Associate will be responsible for deploying, transporting, and operating one of our cutting-edge, AI-powered robots across an assigned region. The role combines technology with retail execution in a way no other position does. The Robotics Field Associate will be responsible for transporting and setting up the robot at a variety of retail stores, preparing it for operation, and utilizing a video game style tablet to align it for operation until the full store is covered. The Robotics Field Associate will be the guardian of the robot’s condition and functionality ensuring it is always ready for the next assignment.
Essential Duties
+ Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the operation, hardware, software, utilization, operating environments, deployment, and application of the robot
+ Safely store, transport, and maintain a 100+ pound robot
+ Serve as the onsite point of contact for conducting data collection
+ Assemble and unfold the robot at a variety of retail locations to prepare it for operation
+ Use a tablet-based controller to drive, position, and align the robot at the start of each aisle
+ Monitor the robot’s progress as it scans store aisles, flipping and repositioning it as needed until the store is fully completed
+ Travel to and complete robot mapping as required in two to five stores per day
+ Ensure all store mappings are accurately completed, work orders are submitted, and any photos are properly uploaded to the ShelfOptix online reporting system at the end of each store’s activities
+ Complete required sign-off forms with store management at the completion of each working day as directed by the project
+ Activate new customer locations onsite
+ Share all onsite customer feedback to internal ShelfOptix teams
+ Communicate knowledge and experience with actual operating environments to other ShelfOptix team members to improve product performance, analyze operational data, and evaluate the need for new functions, features, and products
+ Troubleshoot and fix product hardware and/or software issues while in the field
+ Follow ShelfOptix Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
+ Build strong relationships between store and ShelfOptix Corporation
+ Create, edit, monitor, and implement robotic cleaning and scanning, Daily Maintenance, and Sync Operations
+ Demonstrate spatial awareness to minimize customer disruption while ensuring safety and data capture integrity
+ Ensure the robot remains in top working condition, handling it with care and reporting any maintenance needs
+ Perform other support duties as assigned such as responding to customer service inquiries, monitoring robot performance, and other customer success-related projects
+ Other tasks and duties that may arise to meet ShelfOptix’s business needs

+ Must hold a valid driver’s license in good standing without any restrictions that would prevent you from performing your work duties
+ Must have valid, personal automobile insurance
+ Must have access to reliable transportation for self and the robot to and from all locations
+ Vehicle must provide a protected and lockable cargo area that can accommodate a 48”x28”x18” rolling case
+ Physically capable of transporting, lifting, and setting up equipment weighing up to 120 pounds with the right tools and techniques
+ Reliable, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision across multiple retail environments
+ Ability to be flexible enough to adapt to evolving customer requirements
+ Positive, self-starter attitude
+ Good hand-eye coordination and special awareness
+ Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Spanish a plus
+ Capable of being professional with customers and building strong relationships with store managers
+ Professional appearance, presentation, and grooming
+ Ability to stand and move for 10-12 hours a day
+ Ability to travel throughout North America regularly (up to 90% travel)
Education and Experience Requirements
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 3 – 5 years of retail experience working with customers and store managers
+ Proven success in current position
+ Experience across multiple retail types preferred
+ Proficiency in Spanish a plus

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, be on your feet for long periods of time, balance, complete repetitive motions, apply close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, view a computer terminal, complete extensive reading, and uncrate robot products to include additional machinery and tools. The employee must be able to stand for eight (8) hours. The employee must regularly lift, push, pull, move, and/or carry 100+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel Requirements
Approximately 90% travel is required for Robotics Field Associate. Overnight stays may be required throughout the work week as dictated by business objectives.
