    Role Qualifications: (Required) & (Preferred)

     

    Education: BS (P) in business or management discipline.

     

    Experience: Requires a BS or 5+ years of experience working in a related production oriented business; 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity (P).

     

    Areas of Knowledge: (R) Setup, programming (G&M code) and operation of CNC cutting equipment, CAD systems and software, production planning & scheduling; Haynes product forms, quality systems, business math & statistics and project planning. (P) OSHA safety requirements, manufacturing processes/procedures and equipment, quality auditing, Inventory/routing/planning systems and metallurgy.

     

    Skills: Leadership; computer literacy; organizational skills; conflict resolution skills; professional conduct, telephone etiquette and general communication skills; higher level math skills; ability to multitask. (R)

    Global Accountabilities for the Role:

    1. Safety -Effectively communicate corporate safety & environmental policies to direct reports and take appropriate measures so that all work venues, procedures and practices are maintained in a safe, environmentally compliant manner that is consistent with policy. Establish requirements with direct reports for area and personnel improvements that are consistent with overall corporate safety expectations.

    2. Quality - Effectively communicate corporate quality policy and goals to direct reports and take appropriate measures so that all plans and activities effectively support these goals. Establish requirements with direct reports for area and personnel improvements that are consistent with the overall quality expectations.

    3. Productivity - Take appropriate measures so that established annual productivity measurements are met.

    4. Cost - Monitor budgetary activities to maintain annual expenditures within approved budget. Provide information for cost reduction/containment plans when directed.

    5. Communications - Effectively monitor, document and report status, activity and progress in all areas as directed. Effectively communicate all relevant information and directives received from management to direct reports. Clearly establish expectations for all direct reports and hold them accountable for meeting their commitments and for working at the level of effectiveness required by their role.

    6. Cross-Functional Relations - Effectively work and communicate (both responsively and proactively) with others inside and outside of the HAYNES LA PORTE FACILITY in support of Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing operational plans.

    7. Conduct yourself in a Professional and Ethical manner at all times and in all interactions with customers and other employees.

    Specific Accountabilities for the Role:

    + Supervise & coordinate the item creation & cut part quotation process to support the Sales group.

    + Establish, maintain and improve cutting parameters/programs for lasers and waterjets.

    + Work closely with the Quality group to improve cut part quality as required.

    + Supervise & coordinate nesting activities to ensure orders are routed to the floor to support established leadtimes.

    + Regularly monitor workloads at HIL CNC cutting operations/machines and work with facility management/shift supervision to balance/optimize order backlog at each machine to support commitment for OTD and monthly revenue plans.

    + Coordinate 3R laser qualification activities to balance efficient order flow with cost of sampling.

    + Work closely with the Production Planning group to proactively support the cut part inventory/stocking program.

    + Supervise direct reports as required to ensure that orders nested correctly and in a timely manner.

    + Maintain related SOPs to reflect current practices and meet changing requirements.

    + Meet all Quality systems requirements related to the role. Goal of zero NCRs related to role.
