Description
A growing multi-specialty healthcare organization in Vista is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Supervisor to oversee the billing department and ensure timely, accurate claims submission and reimbursement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep understanding of medical billing practices, compliance requirements, and payer regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise daily operations of the billing department, including claim submission, payment posting, and denial management.
+ Train, mentor, and evaluate billing staff to ensure consistent performance and adherence to policy.
+ Monitor aging reports and identify trends in claim rejections or delays.
+ Review complex claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission.
+ Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Manager to implement process improvements and reduce A/R days.
+ Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims and coordinate corrections or appeals.
+ Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and all other payer requirements.
+ Prepare and present monthly billing performance reports to management.
+ Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments to resolve coding and documentation discrepancies.
+ Travel locally as needed to attend meetings or gather financial data for reporting purposes.
Requirements
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
+ Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare environment.
+ Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
+ Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards.
+ Familiarity with Medicare, Medi-Cal, Tricare, and Managed Care payers.
+ Valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
+ Proficiency with medical billing software (e.g., Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Epic).
+ Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
