The Role at a glance:

Constellation Culinary Group at The New York Botanical Garden is a premier venue specializing in dining and events, renowned for creating exceptional experiences and memorable occasions. We are currently seeking a reliable and efficient Dishwasher to support our team by ensuring that all dishware and kitchen equipment are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. The Dishwasher will be responsible for cleaning and organizing dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support our dining and event services. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment, contributing to the overall success of our events and daily operations.

Division: Constellation - Elior North America

Reports to: Stewarding Supervisor // Stewarding Manager // Facilities Director // General Manager // Regional Director of Operations

Compensation Range

$17-$18 an hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, glasses, utensils, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods as needed.

• Ensure all dishware and equipment are sanitized and returned to their proper storage locations.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, and floors.

• Assist with the disposal of waste and recycling, following proper procedures for waste management.

• Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or maintenance team.

• Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to meet their needs and ensure smooth operations during peak periods.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager to support the team.

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is a plus but not required.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of dishware and equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks as required
