Mastercard is a global technology company transforming the payments ecosystem, advancing inclusive economic growth, and enabling secure, seamless commerce. The North America Communications and Corporate Affairs team plays a critical role in shaping our corporate reputation, advancing policy advocacy, and aligning communications with the company’s business priorities.

This is a pivotal time for Mastercard. We are seeking a senior communications leader to own and evolve the consumer brand narrative across earned, social, and influencer channels—connecting our sponsorship assets, Priceless programs, and small business community with the moments that matter to consumers, issuers, and partners.

    Role

Mastercard is seeking a Vice President of Consumer Brand and Influence Communications to lead strategic external communications for our consumer brand, Priceless experiences, and high-profile sponsorship assets. This role will also drive our integrated influencer strategy across both consumer and B2B audiences, activating Mastercard’s voice and value through digital-first, social-centric campaigns that resonate with key audiences and elevate our brand.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Communications for North America, this leader will be responsible for shaping and executing the communications strategy for Mastercard’s consumer-facing programs. The role requires deep experience in earned media, social and influencer marketing, and integrated campaign development, with a strong understanding of how to translate business strategy into culturally relevant storytelling. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, critical thinking, a deep awareness of cultural zeitgeist and consumer trends, and a collaborative leadership style that brings cross-functional teams together to deliver high-impact work.

    Key Responsibilities

Serve as the day-to-day lead for Mastercard’s influencer program, managing agency partners and developing campaigns that span consumer and B2B

Collaborate with marketing, sponsorship, and content teams to amplify Priceless experiences, event platforms (e.g., GRAMMYs, Major League Baseball, Stand Up To Cancer), and proprietary Mastercard storytelling

Shape and execute communications strategies that engage small business owners, particularly around Mastercard’s community platform and thought leadership programming

Support strategic communications needs for issuer co-brand campaigns and partner marketing, bringing Mastercard’s brand story to life through amplification

Manage agency partners and influencer talent, setting strategy, KPIs, and execution plans

Monitor and report on campaign performance, optimizing against strategic goals and audience insights

Act as a trusted counselor to internal stakeholders and contribute to a high-performing team culture

    Qualifications

Senior-level communications professional with experience spanning communications, public relations, influencer marketing and digital media

Demonstrated success managing earned-centric influencer programs with measurable business impact

Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling content across traditional, digital, and social media channels.

Strong relationships with consumer lifestyle media outlets and influencers,

Experience managing teams and influencing across a matrixed organization.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a curiosity for emerging trends, technologies, and business challenges.

Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, capable of building trust and consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent
