13409BRJob Description:The Network Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the MVW IP network, including LAN, WLAN, VoIP, and the various complementary technologies and systems. The Network Administrator provides technology expertise and process leadership in the application of new and existing technologies in order to deliver comprehensive solutions to MVW customers.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for all aspects of the health and stability of the MVW IP network.
+ Maintenance, monitoring, and day-to-day support of the LAN, WLAN, VoIP, and UPS technologies used at MVW.
+ Support for network incident and event management including investigation, troubleshooting, reporting, resolution, root cause analysis and corrective action management.
+ Designs network solutions using approved, standard technology in cooperation with peers, vendors and partners.
+ Participates in or leads location specific networking projects and contributes to projects across the entire organization.
+ Investigates new technology and innovative solutions including identification, testing, and business case development.
+ Contributes to core business processes including business plan development, expense tracking, project planning & development, demand plan management, inventory tracking, standards compliance, audit coordination, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning
Requirements (Requirements that are essential for performing the job):
+ Demonstrated experience supporting Cisco LAN and WLAN technologies in an enterprise environment.
+ Advance LAN switching and IP routing configuration experience, including OSPF protocol proficiency.
+ Extensive experience with troubleshooting physical cabling, network switching, and IP routing issues.
+ Experiencing with developing cabling specification requirements in support of projects where new fiber optic or copper cabling infrastructure is required.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Experience with administering and maintaining Cisco hardware in an industrial environment.
+ Experiencing with configuring and supporting the Cisco Nexus data center platform.
+ Experiencing supporting Cisco IP Telephony.
+ Prior use and knowledge of network management tools such as SolarWinds and/or Cisco Prime.
+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required
+ Results-oriented member of technical support teams; the successful candidate is a self-starter, able to manage complex incidents, proactively identify opportunities for improvement and develop innovative solutions.
+ Excellent time management skills including ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.
+ Excellent work ethic; willing to extend the extra effort and time required to meet critical deadlines.
+ Strong oral and written communications skills; able to articulate ideas and listen effectively; professionally communicates with all customers, vendors and technical support staff, including remote customers and team members in foreign countries.
+ Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
+ Accomplished Administrator able to manage complex technical problems through identification, design, solution definition and implementation.
+ Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships, including incident management, project coordination, relationship development and SLA maintenance.
+ On call support required, including participation in team on call (24/7) rotation; candidate must be willing to work flexible hours as needed by outage / on-call.
